Our purpose

About Department of Faith

A place where faith meets the real weight, responsibility, and calling of service.

Department of Faith connects and equips those who serve through meaningful stories, faithful presence, and trusted guidance.

Faith in a life of service

Service asks people and families to carry responsibility, navigate change, and lead under pressure. We create room to explore how Christian faith sustains that calling in everyday life.

Our work serves military-connected people, government workers, ministry leaders, and communities that care for those who serve.

Meet the founder

Zachary C. Parker

Pastor. Educator. Writer.

Parker is an active-duty military chaplain whose work brings together pastoral care, leadership, and a commitment to those who serve. He currently serves in the National Capital Region, advising Navy leaders and caring for service members and their families.

Before military chaplaincy, Parker served as a senior pastor and worked with churches and nonprofit organizations to strengthen families and communities. He also serves as an adjunct professor, drawing on his experience in ministry and military service to explore ethics, spiritual formation, and leadership.

Parker writes Strength for Today, a monthly column for Space Coast Daily. He founded Department of Faith to make room for honest stories, biblical encouragement, and trusted guidance for people navigating the demands and transitions of service.
